Welcome!
Welcome to the Darting Needles Quilt Guild web site.  We invite you, as a member or guest, to enjoy your visit.
Please  use this site as a source of information about the Guild and its programs and activities.

Our Goals
The goals of the Darting Needles Quilt Guild are to

  • Promote the art of quilting

  • Create, stimulate, and record an interest in matters pertaining to the making, collecting and preserving of quilts

  • Establish and promote educational endeavors through quilts.

    Our Members
The guild has grown from 22 members at our founding in1982 to over 100 today.  Our members range from beginner quilters to master quilters, so no matter your skills or experience Darting Needles Quilt Guild may be the place for you to share in our common interest of quilting.  Membership is open to all interested.

Dues for 2010 are $35 per calendar year, $40 if receiving the mailed monthly newsletter. The dues and the Membership Registration Form may be sent to the Membership Chairman (See the Membership Link). For a complete outline of the Benefits of Darting Needles Membership click here.

    Our Programs & Activities
Meetings are at 7 PM the third Monday of each month except December. Meetings are held at the First United Methodist Church (325 E Franklin St., Appleton) at the corner of Drew and Washington Streets in Appleton.

  • Every year we have nationally recognized teachers and speakers present to the guild and provide classes on an
        almost monthly basis
. Workshops are either held at this location or the Goodwill Industries building at 1800 Appleton
Rd, Menasha. Click for a program listing or for a printable map to both locations.

  • Darting Needles hosts a quilt show bi-annually.

  • Several smaller groups meet monthly at members' homes to work on quilting projects, share their knowledge, have
"show and tell", and share good company among friends.

  • The guild hosts a retreat weekend in January which provides a fun weekend away from home for members to work
on individual projects or to work on projects the retreat committee designs.

  • Darting Needles Quilt Guild maintains a library of over 350 reference books that may be checked out by members.

  • Our Community Involvement
As part of our charter, Darting Needles provides quilts to local charities. There are usually two meetings per year for working on or presenting quilts made for charitable giving. Darting Needles members have provided several hundred quilts to local charities since it's inception.
